Bull. Shows how LITTLE you know about Chinese cuisine...

My mother used to tell a story about her cousin that she and my father
sponsored as immigrants after WWII...my parents provided this cousin (and
her husband and infant) with room and board until the immigrants could
get on their own feet, even though my parents were in tight financial
straits themselves...

And since it was summer and there was plenty of fresh produce available
(and at a reasonable price), my mother (an excellent cook) would
regularly boil up fresh corn on the cob, and serve sliced fresh tomatoes
with the meal...

And these immigrant relatives, so desperate to leave the Netherlands
because that country was starving and people were boiling tulip bulbs to
eat, would turn up their noses at the corn and tomatoes, claiming that in
Holland they fed it to the pigs and only 'peasants' would eat it
themselves...

Well, you can clog your arteries with 'big steaks and real ice cream',
Saba...I'll gladly eat the healthy "peasant" fare and "pig slop" as you
deem it...

But perhaps considering the state of your health, Saba, you should
reconsider your OWN diet...

I'm allergic to cow's milk and all citrus...you don't find warnings on
THOSE products, either...no statement on a milk carton to the effect of
"WARNING: some people may be allergic to this product".

I'd wager there are many more people who are allergic to peanuts (which
usually causes an anaphylatic reaction) than to soy, yet you don't find
warnings regarding peanuts on most products, even products that aren't
obviously 'peanut' but use peanut oil in the manufacture of the product.

Symptoms that most people also experience after eating chickpeas,
raw broccoli and cabbage, chile and Mexican food...

One would suspect ANY sort of dust would aggravate or institute asthma...

I'm deathly allergic to all forms of smoke...it will trigger an asthmatic
reation even though I normally do not have asthma...

I don't go around saying people should stop having barbecues or using
their fireplaces because of it...

Corn, wheat, rye, and oat dust are no less dangerous than soy dust in
this respect...

First off, GOOD fermented soy products have live bacteria cultures, just
as good yogurt and good cheese do. Do you eat yogurt? Do you eat
cheese? If you eat good varieties of these foods, then you are ingesting
live bacteria that are actually GOOD for the digestive system. Indeed
the human body normally contains such bacteria in the gut, it aids
digestion...to imply that ingesting this bacteria is somehow unhealthy is
either faulty science or deliberate disinformation, perhaps both...
