-Caveat Lector-

Is it not somewhat arrogant for a State, California in this
case, to refuse to build more facilities openly stating that
they are protecting their OWN environment and wanting to have
their electricity produced elsewhere, polluting the
environment of others. Then they can just buy it cheaply and
lecture everybody else on how they should protect the
environment, etc. Well, it seems to have backfired and the
other utilities are just not selling t as cheaply as expected.
But this is the 'not in my backyard' at its worst. Pollute
Texas but not here where WE live. They have known for 18
months that the problem was major but refused to act. Guess
they assumed the other utilities would be so greedy they would
sell them all the electricity needed without having to get
their own hands (environment) dirty.

It is hard to feel sorry for them with this attitude but
unfortunately California is a large portion of the economy and
this is going to hurt the entire nation. That part I
certainly do regret. But even here in the TVA area, our
electricity is very expensive and we manufacture our own.
Can't see why California should have it both ways when the
rest of us do not.
