A police spokeswoman says he was apprehended by Secret Service police early this morning after he jumped the fence surrounding the U.S. Naval Observatory, where Vice President Dick Cheney lives. The vice president wasn't home at the time. The man is being charged with unlawful entry -- and involuntary manslaughter. Police say the suspect was driving at a high rate of speed, going the wrong way on nearby Massachusetts Avenue when he struck a car carrying three women. One of them has died, and the other two are in serious condition. |
