No, I don't doubt that Beck had weapons, perhaps even assault weapons; I don't know what would be deemed a 'large quantity' of ammunition, but presumably if one owns guns, one has SOME ammunition on hand for those guns. What I think is strange is that we're now reading news accounts where certain neighbors allege that Beck was a 'gun nut' -- or at least the person writing the article CLAIMS that neighbors said that, or said that Beck acted 'looney' or somehow suspiciously. This is at odds with all of the LIVE interviews with neighbors done on Friday while Beck's house was still burning. Every single neighbor who was interviewed live on CNN and Fox News (the 2 stations I tuned into) described Beck as a 'nice guy' who pretty much kept to himself...the cheery lady who Aleisha has mentioned was the only one who stated that some of the neighbors became suspicious of Beck's claim to be a U.S. Marshal, but even she described Beck as a 'nice guy'... Not one person who was interviewed live on Friday afternoon mentioned thinking Beck was a 'gun nut'; not one person said that they thought he acted strangely or was a 'looney' or that they were somehow frightened by him; not one of these neighbors mentioned Beck's supposed inordinate interest in attending children's parties in the neighborhood, so hence a suspicion that he was a pedophile. Nope, they all described him as a 'nice guy' who pretty much kept to himself. Some of the neighbors who were interviewed live admitted that they didn't even know Beck, had only seen him around the neighborhood. Even these neighbors didn't have anything bad to say about Beck...no mention of rumours in the neighborhood about him, no mention of feeling nervous in his presence. Even these neighbors stated that Beck 'seemed like a nice guy'.... So it seems that part of the spin operation now is to create a scenario presenting Beck as a danger to his neighbors.... I find it hard to believe that an ex-felon went around to neighborhood parties bragging about all the guns he had...even if he WAS pretending to be a federal agent, he had to have known that eventually it would catch up with him... So either the reports of him going around bragging about being a federal agent and having an arsenal in his house are untrue, or if Beck really DID do that, then one has to wonder what was going on with him for him to throw caution to the wind... I still feel that there is much more to Beck than we will probably ever be allowed to know... As a sidebar, I don't know ANYONE who owns guns who would go around to neighborhood parties BRAGGING about their 'arsenal'...and I'm talking about law-abiding citizens who have never been convicted of a crime, so hence are not precluded by law from owning legal firearms. Bragging like that would be an invitation for a break-in, it would be like someone going around bragging about all the diamonds and other fine gems they had in the house... It is therefore very unlikely that an ex-felon bragged at neighborhood cookouts about owning an arsenal... I wonder who at these get-togethers had moved into the neighborhood AFTER Beck had moved in....my suspicion is that there was an undercover agent living in the neighborhood who attended these parties, or at the very least one of the neighbors is an informant. Barring finding out who may have moved into the area after Beck moved in, I'd look for a neighbor who was having their own problems with the authorities -- perhaps a tax issue, perhaps caught buying cocaine -- who would have had a particular reason to cut a deal with the feds by acting the part of snitch... I'd also like to know what exactly was in that warrant, because when Beck read it he immediately ceased being cooperative...my suspicion is that it names more people than just Beck -- perhaps names the undercover agent or snitch, and that is why it is still sealed....
