This brings up a frequently heard allegation from the left. But I'm
interested in answers to the following. Who was blacklisted and why? And
then...an even bigger question...by whom? Are you telling us that Sen.
McCarthy and friends kept these people from getting work in Hollywood?
That's a stretch my friend...leftist urban folk tales to the contrary
notwithstanding. Let's place the blame right where it belongs, on the
Hollywood elite themselves. Those blacklisted (if in fact they were) could
not get work because the directors/producers/studio owners would not hire
them. Not because Joe McCarthy circulated some commie shitlist.
You know...it's funny to me. When the left is in decline and disfavor in our
nation, they moan and cry and whine about wanting "a place at the table".
The right is then charicatured as "biased" and "discriminatory". But when
the left is in ascendancy, all such talk evaporates and their agenda is
pursued with a relentless fervor and they will destroy anyone who stands in
their way. McCarthy is such a convenient whipping boy. But character
assassination and so-called blacklisting are a way of life for the left.
