-Caveat Lector- Local NewsLocal news provided by: Metro Networks Subway Fumes Probably From Cleaning Materials Twenty-seven Redline passengers were overcome by noxious fumes Wednesday afternoon that HAZMAT officials now say probably came from cleaning materials. All 16 Redline subway stations were closed until eight p-m when the all-clear was given. The closures and evacuations played havoc with surface traffic in the Wilshire-Western area for several hours. The passengers complained of dizziness, nausea and shortness of breath, but none were seriously injured.
