Islam is as diverse as Christianity; just as you will find some extremely conservative Christians who will find religious justification for prohibiting drinking alcoholic beverages while other Christian sects actually use alcoholic beverages in their rites, so too will you find some adherants of Islam routinely imbibing alcohol while others claim it is strictly forbidden. But one would not usually find someone with a liberal interpretation on the alcoholic beverage thing amongst Saudi Arabians nor those affiliated with the Taliban...unless, as I pointed out, they considered themselves on a 'mission for God', where anything would be forgiven if it was done as an act against the infidel in a 'holy war'...
