I wonder how history will come to see the now 1+ million dead arabs? Will the Arabs be whining about it forever, like the jews are still doing? I guess that depends if they ever bother to learn the basics of PR and perception management. I think it is clear by now, that even though "history" tells us that the US intervened and entered the WWII for humane reasons, that is NEVER the case in real politics. That is just "history" written by the victors. Nobody cares if a million plus Iraqis are dead because of sanctions, and nobody cares if a similar number of Afghan children will starve to death because of US bombing. It won't effect the government policies one bit. The only thing it will effect is the "veil" of perception management that the officers will build and use to cover the issues in the media. Humanitarian reasons are always a political excuse, a chance to appear to do something to look good, and when it is not convinient, humanitarian catastrophies are simply ignored. For corporations and governments: Money, or the equivalent, is the only reason to act or *do* something in the real world. Words and PR, on the other hand, are cheap and cost nothing. I think people must just come to grips with the harsh reality of things. Palestinians are crushed and killed daily while the US has been idly standing by and watching Israelis do this for years. Yet when Iraq invaded Kuwait, all hell breaks loose and out goes the cavalry to the rescue.. Nobody ever wonders why? People who can't see the reality for what it is, are justifiably baffled. The perception management and mind-control the governments are capable of these days is incredible. Americans can see only what their government wants them to, Internet provided a short-lived view of the REAL world, and now this is the main reason why it needs to be brought under control. Humanitarians have no hope in the capitalist world. Money is the only motivator for governments and organizations. While humanitarianism may every once in a while be their convenient veil, they can these days do quite well without it. www.ctrl.org DECLARATION & DISCLAIMER ========== CTRL is a discussion & informational exchange list.
