Albert Pike is the only officer of the Confederate
Army who has a statue in Washington D.C.
The statue of Pike in Confederate uniform and on
Horseback stands outside the U.S. Department of
Justice. Several years ago, attention to this strange
fact was drawn into the alleged news media.
Leaders of the black community in
D.C. and members of the "Black Caucus" (note the
oxymoron) said they were offended and started a
push to have the Pike Statue removed.
But that suddenly became a non-issue and it was
dropped....at least in the media.
Pike's statue is still there.
Considering that black opposition has been able to
remove the Confederate Flag from the Capitol of
South Carolina and elsewhere, one wonders that such
black opposition was powerless against Pike in DC.
