Did you hear John Simpson on 5 live this morning.He has just brought a new book out didnt catch the title but he said the word Terrorism is wrongly used since 9/11 and it is used to describe any rebellion against the state and that in some cases people have limited options when it comes to rebellion these days with the hierarchy the way it is. He spoke of when he was a correspondent some years ago when his friend filmed in the dead of night with these infra red aids the beating of palestinian youths some only 12 years old by the israeli soldiers. they were breaking their arms and hands so they couldnt throw stones.He was tipped off by an israeli soldier who didnt agree with what was happening.The film was shown worldwide and the israelis complained about it they didnt deny it though.An american foreign minister had to publicly go to Israel and apologise for the truth! Needless to say it was scratched from the American news. The reporter in question has never spoken a word about his experience since. John Simpson recalled a few of his brushes with the controlled media in his book,I expect you know that he is always getting into hot water with the BBC with his live off the cuff reports but they still employ him due to the fact that he is popular with the people and gets the interviews,they need.He is well respected by other governments and media so he can afford to speak out his interview this morning was rivetting.Its a shame he doesnt go over to ITV even though they are dumming down now. This morning on Sky we were bombarded with a program telling us all about how wicked Saddam is his whole rise to power and what he has done...see how the media works it can be no coincidence that Blaaah is about to reveal the secret dossier on him as a precursor to War in Iraq today!!!
