I thought I would try upgrading my laptop to the latest version of fedora.

I use the XFCE version of fedora, installed via a 'live' version (using USB
stick for the first time instead of making a dvd: everything is much faster).

I've had a number of strange problems, e.g. firefox not finding things. But
what really screwed me for a while was that if I chose the ctwm login it
started, but my menus and keyboard shortcuts were not available.

Eventually I discovered that I had failed to install 'm4'. For some reason that
has never happened to me previously. Anyhow with m4 ctwm works fine in F22,
though various other things have changed, and require workarounds.

I don't know why I have never had that problem with m4 in the past.

Anyhow, it all seems to work as expected now, though I should probably get the
most recent version of ctwm and try that.
