You could have the function take one argument, but the argument is a struct pointer to a string plus a void pointer. It would work in less type-fussy languages, and who knows, maybe there's some trick with the current code to fit this in. Unless this is trivial, please forget I mentioned it. I'm sure ctwm has much more important priorities.
