On Tue, Jul 20, 2021 at 09:23:23PM -0400 I heard the voice of Stefan Monnier, and lo! it spake thus: > > I've never used `WindowBox`, but `ctwm -w` has been my go-to tool > for debugging both my `.ctwmrc` and `ctwm` itself.
I did try fiddling with it a few times for those sorta uses once, but I found too many weirdness and bad side effects (I recall unclean shutdowns of it did something Bad And Wrong(tm), frex). I find Xnest or Xephyr incalculably better; with Xephyr you can even capture the kbd/mouse and so mess with key bindings unencumbered by what your real ctwm might try and take over for itself. For dev, it feels like a straight win. For light config fiddling it _is_ a bit less convenient than just firing up captive mode if you're not already used to doing it... -- Matthew Fuller (MF4839) | fulle...@over-yonder.net Systems/Network Administrator | http://www.over-yonder.net/~fullermd/ On the Internet, nobody can hear you scream.
