Yes but I'd like some control of that placement, be it relative to the
previous such window, or truely random.

I'd like to have them cascade right and up, or down and left so as to
leave the left most titlebar button (or in my case
'raise/lower/move/menu' titlebar handle) visible.

The default arrangement of down and right means bringing one window
foward totally covers the later windows titlebars, paticualrly if those
ones were smaller for some reason.
