Does it help if you increase the TitlePadding setting? If you change
TitleJustification? ("left", "center" or "right") I tried to look at the
calculations regarding these positions but I quickly got lost :-(
Strangely enough, if I use SqueezeTitle (as usual) and NoTitleHighlight
(extra), and further mostly default (I think) non-3D titles, I do get
some space to the right. In fact, even if I set TitlePadding to 0, I get
some space at the right but not at the left (contrary to your result).
And strangely, my titlebar buttons seem closer together too, even though
I don't think they should be.
To show these strange effects, I included 3 small gifs:
highlight.gif: my normal config (to compare)
paddingdefault.gif: just added NoTitleHighlight
padding0.gif: also added TitlePadding 0
