OK. I had never heard of monotone and did not have it on my machine,
but there is a fedora version, so I installed it and fetched the
ctwm source.
Unfortunately monontone has a terrible bug: unlike wget, it loses
all information about when the files were created, so I don't know
how old this system is. However version.c does say:
#define VERSION_ID "3.9devel"
I did
cp Imakefile.local-template Imakefile.local
xmkmf
make
That created a new ctwm. So I edited my .xinitrc to invoke it
instead of openbox and restarted X.
Alas, full screen flash, tested on one of my own files here:
http://www.slideshare.net/asloman/presentations
did not work. There was a full screen display for about half a
second and then it went back to showing only the small version.
% X -version
gives:
X.Org X Server 1.5.3
Release Date: 5 November 2008
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0
Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5 i686

Build Date: 24 May 2009 07:42:37PM
Build ID: xorg-x11-server 1.5.3-17.fc10
The same flash presentation works fine in Openbox.
That's not very encouraging, but perhaps someone who knows more
about the X window system and the innards of ctwm will be able to
fix it?
I'll be happy to test it, if given instructions.
