heh ... i do that in most of my securityfocus columns. it's a challenge i enjoy, and it's also the type of essay i most enjoyed reading (& writing) when i was a 17th cent. Brit Lit PhD student.

Were you a PhD Student of BritLit in the 17th Cent

yes. this is my 5th lifetime.

or a PhD student of 17th Cent BritLit? And anyway wasn't most of the interesting stuff out of the 19th Cent? (And I'm not talking about Virtorian pr0n!)

hell no. 19c is for weenies. EVERYONE does that. REAL men & women do the 17c! my god, there was a civil war! the king was beheaded! cromwell! milton! dryden! marvell! shakespeare (at the very beginning)!

there was an ENORMOUS amount of stuff published, and most of it has NEVER been written about. perfect for grad students & profs!

Isn't the only job you could get as a PhD in that subject area be yet another 17th Cent Brit Lit college professor?

no, often 17c Brit Lit PhDs are hired to oversee chocolate factories employing bare-chested strippers to run the machines.

now what do YOU think? of COURSE professor is the only job you can get with that degree? of what other possible use could it be? :)

And the only thing they could teach would be more 17thCent BritLit profs. Don't we have too many of these anyway? (By too many, I mean more than 1 in each country.)

well, there are actual students who ENJOY reading milton, dryden, shakespeare, and so on. y'know: kids who date, as opposed to the computer science majors. :P
