Where we are in Africa requires that we use a pre-paid phone card to access the internet. However, I'm having difficulties. I receive the message that there is no carrier most of the time. All of my modem responses to voice prompts are timed correctly but when I get to the point of actually connecting to my isp it fails. I have managed to connect on one or two occasions in the last three months but that is not too helpful. I can use the phone card with Windows and the winmodem without problem every time but I don't want to use Windows to access the Internet. I suspect that the problem is with my modem somehow. If I am somewhere that I can dial directly without a phone card I can use wvdial every time without fail. It is only when I have to use my card that I can't connect (which is the majority of the time). My modem is a Dynex dx-m200 pcmcia card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tim
