well, i moved 'em apart, like we talked about at the last meeting, & i have a fan blowing on them. the sides are cool as cucumber, but the one in the middle is still locking up. the one of the left appears to be ok.
i had top running in one window, & in another I was outputting the temperature of the cpu. at 4:06 am last night, the middle machine locked. you can see the windows, but you can't use anything, and if i try to do so, x will lock completely. the temperature at 4:06: 51 degress C. it started on the machine when i rebooted in the low 40s, & climbed steadily. it was 48 degrees for a looooong time. so, is that temperature really bad? is it fact the heat? what's YOUR cpu temp? here's how to tell: cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THM0/temperature (it may not work on all machines) scott -- R.
