Is there a way to specify that one wants to create a swapfile instead
of a swap partition during the install of Debian? Are there any
disadvantages to using a swapfile vs a swap partition?

A swapfile is easy enough to create after installation. I was just
wondering if it could be done during. I didn't see anything obvious
during the installation process.

I'm installing Debian/Sarge on machines for ByteWorks[1].
