Yes, saw the first one via google but not the second.  Have you or  
anyone else used either of them or anything similar?

A simple hack I was thinking of wast to create a folder called /etc/ 
network/profiles which contains a bunch of ./interfaces folders with  
names corresponding to the profile.  A script would then prompt for a  
location, bring the interfaces down, create a softlink for /etc/ 
network/interfaces to the appropriate profile, and then bring the  
interfaces up.
