Kickstart basically runs a custom install script (answering the questions one would usually handle manually). FAI goes a level deeper and handles everything from PXE boot on up. It's a pain to setup (requires DHCP and TFTP twiddling). There's quite a bit of config work to get it rolling and it only works with Debian. Also, all the computer have to be on the network with the master server and they need to support PXE boot (I know you may have older comps). FAI is good for creating cloned cluster machines, but not an ad-hoc install-fest. > > BTW, I will be in Cologne (Koeln) during the third week of April. I > should drop by and say Hi to those folks.
