Scott and AgentM just let me know that the new {Xu,Edu,U}buntu 6.06
has been released. From my initial dabbling, it seems very nice. I
had a 5.10 Edubuntu install and upgrading to 6.06 took only two steps:

1) run the update manager (System > Administration > Update Manager)
2) if you already have the latest update manager, it will ask you if
you want to upgrade to 6.06. Just follow the on-screen instructions
to do the upgrade (there are only a hand-full of questions it asks.)

If you don't have the latest update manager, update your system,
close the update manager, and then run the update manager again.

It has some nice features, including a workable version of KTurtle
(got the bugs out), some nice games (e.g. Gnometris), Firefox, and
the full OpenOffice.org 2.0 suite. Hopefully soon, I'll get a chance
at working with the CD burning software, audio/mic, and floppies
(important for the ByteWorks students to save their work.)

Anyone else try any of the {Xu,Edu,U}buntu 6.06 family?

Regards,
- Robert
