I don't know.  I don't recall those being in the grub kernel line.   
But I'll check.

Perhaps, but I'd rather clone than install.  It's faster and more  
consistent, when it works.  For example, I recently installed  
Edubuntu on a relatively slow machine, which took over an hour.   
Cloning took under 5 minutes.  Of course, if cloning is then followed  
by 2 hours of hassle, then installing looks good.
