I noticed on Ubuntu.com that Ubuntu Server optionally offers a LAMP
installation, and I'm thinking about enabling it in order to use it as
a development server (I currently use XAMPP), since I have a few
websites I maintain, all of which use PHP, and two of which also use
MySQL, plus I anticipate getting another one to maintain probably
within the next year, but before I install Ubuntu Server, I have a
couple of questions:

1. Is the LAMP installation in Ubuntu Server automatically installed
by default with Ubuntu Server, or is there something else I will need
to do in order to install it?

2. Will the LAMP server in Ubuntu Server be set up to automatically
start when I boot up my computer, and if not, how do I set it up to do
so? (or would I do better to stick with XAMPP?)

Thanx in advance,
Fred
