FWIW, I was able to easily run Googles spreadsheet here on an old IBM
600E Thinkpad using FreeBSD 4.11 and a lightweight window manager.
Here are the specs:
The Regents of the University of California. All rights reserved.
FreeBSD 4.11-RELEASE-p11 #0: Sun Jul 10 16:54:47 EDT 2005
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/STABLE411
Timecounter "i8254" frequency 1193182 Hz
CPU: Pentium II/Pentium II Xeon/Celeron (363.96-MHz 686-class CPU)
Origin = "GenuineIntel" Id = 0x66a Stepping = 10
real memory = 167575552 (163648K bytes)
I am using Mozilla 1.7.12. My connection is a 256 kB PPPoA modem. The
spreadsheet is reasonably responsive.
Robert and others, this may be an encouragement for you to use this
on the ByteWorks computers. NOTE: Google imposes a 500 kB upload limit
on the documents. That may be somewhat restrictive. Still this is a
pretty nice service.
