...but not to worry, I've found the cure!

After you've logged in, either as guest or root, you're presented with
three different options, only one of which is supposed to get you to the
XFCE desktop, that being "startx" -- and it doesn't!

I looked around on the web and found that the reason for this is that
Wolvix is based on Slax, which uses the "startx" command to log into a
KDE desktop, which Slax has -- but Wolvix doesn't, and as such, Wolvix
was looking for a component of KDE that's missing on the CD, and so the
system gets stuck at a white terminal box that takes up the upper-left
one-fourth of the screen with the rest of it being all black.

But I did discover a way around this: Instead of entering "startx", you
should really enter "startxfce4" when presented with the options. In
fact, you might want to write this down somewhere or memorize it, since
"startxfce4" isn't even among the options. Anyway, once I discovered
that, I tried entering that, and the XFCE desktop fired right up and so
I tested out some games for our nieces and nephews (my wife just had to
come over and play one of 'em, too, in fact)! :-)

Anyways, if you should be presented with the aforementioned error, give
this a try, and it should work.
