How can I enlarge the display size under Ubuntu? Occasionally, I muck around with X and I end up with a display size that is larger than my screen. That is, I may have a 12" screen, but X11 thinks it's a 24" screen and displays only about 1/4th of the desktop on the screen. To see other parts of the screen, I would move my mouse to the edges and then the display would scroll in that direction. Normally, I'd find that phenomenon annoying. But now, I'm actually looking for that feature.
I looked in System > Preferences > Screen Resolution, but that's not it. The resolution is fine. What I'd like to change is the display size> Specifically, I'd like to make the screen size larger so that everything looks larger (fonts, buttons, window icons, scroll bars, etc.) Any pointers would be appreciated.
