As I understand it, in a number of countries in Europe:

(1) Voting is compulsory.
(2) Elections are scheduled on weekends
(3) In Germany, paper ballots are still the norm, and votes are hand-
counted. I wouldn't be surprised if other countries in Europe had
similar attitudes toward electronic voting.

I have no idea regarding IDs in Europe, but one relative of mine who
lives in LA and works on their elections board has noted a major
problem regarding names and IDs during elections: How do you handle
registrations for multiple persons (sorry for the bad grammar) who
have the same first and last name--biometrics?

Also, slot machines in this country are more tightly regulated than is
the equipment used in elections.

Think about the above.  The last should especially scare the heck out
of you.
