It's the first time I reply to the list. I did not assist the CWLUG in a long 
time. I should change that.

As far as eSATA on Linux, I have been using it for a while now, just like USB. 
Well just like with USB or Firewire the disk is detected and can be mounted 
manually or automatically. As far as bandwidth it depends on the SATA version 
and the spec of the HD of course. Hope it helps.
