Which one is the S101: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASUS_Eee_PC#Specifications I have the 2G Surf (aka 700). My only complaint is the keyboard size -- I wish it was 1" wider to accompany a full-sized keyboard sans number pad. Other than that it works good enough for my travel needs. It is not good enough for day-to-day desktop work. For that I plug in an external monitor (1024x768), full keyboard, mouse, and an external 1 TB USB drive. > 2.) I find that 1GB is just not enough RAM. Have you attempted to > upgrade RAM? or the SSD? The model I have does not allow upgrading the RAM. However, I can boot from an external USB drive (e.g. laptop drive or thumb stick) or an SD card, which is where I've installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix. I suspect my next laptop will be a 10" model or whatever the smallest netbook is that has a "normal" size keyboard.
