Even easier way is: sudo apt-get install network-config (must be launched from the command line following installation as no menu launcher appears) it is in the universe repositories. The problem I found in the makeuseof tutorial is an ability to set a static ip address for the network card before sharing -- it seemed to be and either or but not both (i.e. you could either set a static ip address or share with other computers, but not do both.) network-config does not have this limitation and it is gui based as well. Was doing this when I had a Mac and couldn't get the wifi card to work on my ThinkPad under Linux (Fedora?). Was a while ago.Regards, - Robert On Tue, Dec 22, 2009 at 4:00 PM, Mike Bigalke <[email protected]> wrote:I wonder if this would work for Macs as well. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-easily-share-your-wireless-connection-in-ubuntu-9-10/ -- Central West End Linux Users Group (via Google Groups) Main page: http://www.cwelug.org To post: [email protected] To subscribe: [email protected] To unsubscribe: [email protected] More options: http://groups.google.com/group/cwelug -- Central West End Linux Users Group (via Google Groups) Main page: http://www.cwelug.org To post: [email protected] To subscribe: [email protected] To unsubscribe: [email protected] More options: http://groups.google.com/group/cwelug |
