Even easier way is:

sudo apt-get install network-config

(must be launched from the command line following installation as
no menu launcher appears)

it is in the universe repositories.

The problem I found in the makeuseof tutorial is an ability to set a
static ip address for the network card before sharing -- it seemed to be
and either or but not both (i.e. you could either set a static ip address or
share with other computers, but not do both.)

network-config does not have this limitation and it is gui based as well.

Kind Regard,

Robert

Mac has a really easy way of doing this. The process has a name, but
I don't remember it right now. Was doing this when I had a Mac and
couldn't get the wifi card to work on my ThinkPad under Linux
(Fedora?). Was a while ago.

I wonder if this would work for Macs as well.
