I decided on a clean install.  From what I read, an upgrade doesn't
provide the 10 second or so boot time.  No wifi issues, per se.   It's
just that in 9.10 the wifi dies after an hour or so of use.  I
understand they fixed that in 10.04 with the Atheros drivers. Er, at
least I hope they have.
