Agree with previous statements. As a former user of a 17" G4 PowerBook I can attest that they are less laptop and more portable desktop. If I were to own a Mac again, I would do something similar as Scott and Jans. For my use that would mean going with the smallest laptop that I can use comfortably for travel and then hooking it up to a larger monitor, keyboard, and mouse when at a desk. That's what I currently do with my EeePC netbook. As for dual-booting, skip it. Run OS X and go virtual with VBox (my preference because the virtual drives work across OSes.) Other than Macs are really nice machines, why are you considering getting a Mac?
