In addition to what everyone else said there is, in my opinion, the
single most important factor for a laptop: battery life.  No one can
touch what you get with a Mac running OS X.  Dim the screen and with
default power save settings and typical desktop usage (i.e., not
gaming) you can get 7+ hours on a single charge.
