Except for calls to/from landlines and cell phones. But that's true
for any VoIP service.

What's not clear is if Google Phone is encrypted. GMail is encrypted
via https. And the phone plug-in is available via the GMail page.
Does that mean voice calls are encrypted?

But if my needs are modest, that is, voice only, and I can do all this
with Google:

- phone to phone
- computer to computer
- phone to my computer
- my computer to phone

And I can use GVoice from any old phone without having to install
anything. Plus I don't have to pay extra for a phone number or for
outgoing calls. Then I don't really need Skype.
