I still have a special fondness for netbooks.  Anytime I encounter one, I can't help but fondle it lovingly.  My father has an 8.9" eeepc 900 16 GB SSD, 1GB RAM, my sister has a 10.1" eeepc 1000, 32 GB SSD, 2 GB RAM (this is my dream netbook I bought used on ebay for $226.00 incl. shipping), and I have an 10" Sony Vaio (actually not technically a netbook but similar size / form factor.)

It seems to me that netbooks (at least the 10.1" variety) are better suited toward actual production use such as drafting documents, spreadsheets, and such, where typing is less than ideal on tablets which are better suited toward web surfing, e-mail, and "apps".  Not knocking tablets, I love my webos hp touchpad dearly, but would much rather type a letter or other document on my Sony mini vaio (or other 10.1" netbook.)

My 2 cents FWIW,

Kind Regards,

Robert

Netbooks are dead. What killed them? I'd say a combination of their general crappiness & the iPad.
