When we criticize typing on a tablet, remember that a keyboard can be added easily and cheaply, and it can be left behind when going mobile. Same arrangement I had on my Newton 2100 (until the keyboard was stolen, along with another Newton that was not compatible with it). The Apple keyboard is a very nice (large) size, while still extremely small and portable.
Perhaps the feature of netbooks that is being discarded is the idea of making one at minimum cost, while there are still plenty of similar sized laptops that are selling well (MB Air, Vaio), and a tablet with keyboard can be a similar size and weight, and still be at a low cost. Add Parallels with its remote feature, and you can use your [virtual] computer on its desktop while you're somewhere else, and have more power than you would have in most laptops. Put money into the desktop and get more bang for the buck. --Don On Mon, Dec 31, 2012 at 5:41 PM, Robert & Janet Bennett <[email protected]> wrote: > > I still have a special fondness for netbooks.
