Another question is whether it is possible to create a manifest that either specifies multiple versions of the MSVC runtime or says "use any version available". I know this must be possible because many programms replace DLLs on updates and it should not be necessary to change the main program to use a new DLL. After all, the possibility to update single components of an application without having to replace the main application is one of the key reasons shared libraries are used at all. I anyone knows how this can be done, please speak up.
