Hi David,

I am an American who recently moved to the Philippines
and opened an internet cafe here. One thing that is
really amazing to me is that here in the relatively
small town where I live there are more Internet Cafes
than in most U.S. States! It does make sense, though,
because in a developing country most people do not own
their own computer, only the rich own a computer. So,
if people want to get on the internet, or even just
use a word processor, they have to rent time on a
machine somewhere. So, it is my belief that internet
cafes are much more prevelant in developing countries
than in countries like the USA or the UK. There are
parts of the town where I live where there are 4 or 5
internet cafes on one city block!!
