Errrr... How about supplying the relevant information?
- Switch from what?
- What bandwidth do you have now?
- What are you paying for it?
- What bandwidth is the WISP guaranteeing?
- What will you be paying for that?
- How far apart will your antenna be from the WISP's?
- What is the weather like in your area? (Do you get
heavy rain? Snow?)
- What type of radio link is the WISP offering?
(802.11, 802.11b or ???)
(2 Mbps equipment, 11 Mbps, or ???)
(Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum or Direct
Sequence Spread Spectrum or ???)
- How long have the WISP been offering wireless
service in your area?
- How many other wireless customers does the WISP have?
- Have you talked to any of those customers to find
out what their experiences have been?
- Are you buying the radio, and antenna equipment on
your end, or does the WISP retain ownership?
I think wireless is great stuff, and would like to be
offering it to customers in my area (I'm a dial-up ISP). So
far, we're still holding off on getting into it, largely due
to the $$$ involved.
