From: "John Sukey", [EMAIL PROTECTED] Just goes to show how ditzy reporters palm their ignorance off on the public. The TEC9 (submachine Gun) confiscated from the woman is not and never was a submachine gun. It is a fairly clumsy 9mm pistol with poor sights. It does, however, have a large magazine, so a poor shot can possibly make up for his ineptitude by putting a large number of rounds down the barrel. This happened in Phoenix Arizona several years ago. After a high speed car chase in which the felon finaly crashed the stolen car, he got out and started firing his TEC9 at a police officer. Said officer stepped behind cover and dropped the idiot with one round from his revolver. Quantity does not make up for quality. Interesting that the woman was in the million morons march. -- I've never actually come across a TEC-9 that would get through a mag without jamming, I could never understand what the fuss was about concerning them. The best "assault" pistol by far is the Calico M950, as it is reasonably balanced unlike all the others and it works and is somewhat accurate unlike most of the competition. Plus it has a 100-round mag which is quite fun! I had a Steyr SPP and that was rubbish, heavily overrated. The Uzi was likewise awful. I quite liked the H&K SP89 but it was overpriced. As for the M11/9, the only person who could ever get one of those to work properly I think was Tony Mitchell!<G> There was another one called the Linda or something like that but I've never fired one.
