In People, Honours and Awards, page 9, Sporting Achievements caught my eye; It reads: Singaporean MA student, Guy Hoh, has been elected Sports Personality of the Year by the Sports Association at the University. He received the award from football legend Trevor Brooking. A member of the University Rifle Club, Guy is the club's armourer and also coaches members. On receiving the award, he said: "I have really enjoyed Leicester and have made lots of friends. I believe strongly that university life is not just about work, but sport and social activities as well." Picture of Guy and Trevor Brooking handing over the award is also on the page.
