The UKPSA have been approached by the police to help
identify a particular shotgun used in a 'serious
incident' and who it's importers may be. As there is
such a wealth of experience within cybershooters I
thought that someone on the list may be able to point
them in the right direction. Any info gratefully received.
The shotgun is an Italian made Atis, 'Trusty' model,
box magazine fed, 12 bore pump action.
The cartridges used were Bakal 7.5 to 9 shot. The
police believe, from their inquiries to date, that
these Russian cartridges have not been imported for
some 10 years. Apparently they were not popular as
they are very noisy, throw a large flame and give
lots of smoke. Sounds fun to me, but there you are. Any
info on these would also be helpful.
If anyone can shed some light, then please post it to
the board or email me direct on [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Thanks
Alan Phillips

Baikal shotgun ammo probably still is imported by someone,
simply because it's cheap. I have seen one of these
shotguns, I think European American Armory used to
import them into the US but I have no idea who the
UK importer may have been. Could likely be an illegal
import as pump-action shotguns are Category C under
the EFD and in many European countries are not controlled
to any great extent.
However, if the cartridges are that old the shotgun could
be pre-1988.
