Modern kinetic energy penetrators are very efficient and as a consequence
the glacis plates of Main Battle Tanks are inclined at angles in excess of
70 deg from the vertical.
There was a recent study carried out by the Danes on ricochets from SAA.
This was in aid of range safety and surveyed the ricochet trajectory and
fall of shot from 5.56 and others. Its useful info to fight your corner on
range safety.
