Poorly reported(by me) but, in Saturdays Sun a report from Greater
Manchester that a nursery was under attack from an "Airgun sniper" who
peppered the place with pellets.
Frightened staff rounded-up the kids and herded them inside whilst shots
pinged off the windows.
The plods(how can you call them anything else sometimes)took 90 minutes
to respond cos "the officers responding were diverted, en route, to a
car accident" (motorist, baaaaaddd......)
By the time dixon of dock green arrived the shooter, who all real
shooters would like to see caught, had gone. It seem strange to me that
having heard tales of bona fide shooters being harrassed by the force
helicopters filled with kevlar cowboys that a couple of police ninjas
were't despatched to the scene. They were probably too busy filling the
holes in the floors caused by errant shots from those notoriously
sensitive glocks.
Im not sure if this story says that the plods are not that bothered
about airgun offences, or that they are inefficient, or undermanned,
bone idle perhaps.
Perhaps this could be quoted when ACPO launch their next offensive.
