        Steve,

        Okay, how about 'tactical shooting'?
        Of course, you probably understand
that the term 'practical' was adopted to keep the
antis off-guard, as it can't well be used against the
shooting community as a term like 'tactical' shooting.
An attempt at the politically correct.
I say screw it! Let's call a spade a spade.
Let's call it what it really is: Multi-event
Active Engagement Target Shooting, or MAETS.

There is nothing remotely "tactical" about "practical"
in this country, and I would say it is only vaguely
"practical" since handguns were banned. (With the
exception of PR, I mean the UKPSA events).

I was going to suggest "fun shooting" or "interesting
shooting" but that depends on your point of view of
course.

It needs to be called something so that these stuffy
idiots take on board that it is interesting and can
help the sport.

Why oh why do practical shooters have to endlessly justify
themselves? I mean, here I am, someone who has been a
member of UKPSA since 1990, I have a trophy cabinet
full of trophies I won in IPSC and USPSA comps, yet
I am perfectly willing to have a go at 300m ISSF and
not only that but I was wholeheartedly in support of
our club spending our limited funds on upgrading our
50m range to ISSF standards.

Why the hell can't these utter pillocks (and I don't
necessarily mean John Redditch's club, I mean the President
of the ISSF) get their collective heads out of their
arses and recognise the fundamental reality that if you
attack one perfectly legitimate branch of the shooting
sports the only people you help are the people who want
to ban shooting, period?

Steve.
