Surely some prat of a Labour MP introduced a Ten
Minute Rule bill or some such during the hysteria
following Dunblane and had 'combat knives' banned.
Made no bloody difference of course since the same
knives were still on sale the day after the bill was
passed only now they were called 'hunting
knives, survival knives etc'.
That didn't matter to our enlightened legislator though
since the point and purpose of the Bill had been to get
him his ten minutes of fame on the telly and in the
tabloid press.

It's illegal to advertise knives as "offensive weapons",
but it's not illegal to sell them or possess them, or
advertise them for that matter, depending on how the
advertising is done.
