Strangely, a wall of silence seems to have descended about the cause of this. No mention on the Highways Agency web page. The only official explanation was that it was due to an incident. Anyone know more? What sort of incident? It couldn't possibly have been yet another firearms incident that Bliar wants to keep secret because they dont happen any more? Chris Gould -- There have been a lot of problems because of the alterations being done in the city centre. New Street is still closed, the water mains also blew in two places which effectively closed the whole of the city centre last week. The only way in was the Aston Expressway, J6 of the M6. That was before the 8th though. Steve.
