Just to put the record straight, the quote at the clubhouse is not a
corruption of a couple of lines by Kipling as Nick suggests, it is in fact
a direct quote from "The Golden Journey to Samarkand" by James Elroy
Flecker.

The complete verse, (taken from the middle of the work) is:

"We are the Pilgrims, master; we shall go
Always a little further; it may be
Beyond that last blue mountain barred with snow,
Across that angry or that glimmering sea."
